Econfidence

ECO ASSIST DISPLAY

The bars on either side of the Civic's speedo shift between shades of blue and green to provide feedback on how economically you're driving. Blue means you could be doing better, while green tells you that you're onto a good thing.

ECON DRIVING MODE

At the touch of a button, ECON mode helps maximise fuel efficiency by adjusting the performance of the engine, transmission, heating and cooling system, and cruise control.

Hybrid Technology

The Civic Hybrid feels just like a normal, responsive Civic, but it's powered by Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) technology.

The Civic Hybrid’s fuel-efficient IMA engine combines a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with a lightweight, high-output electric motor that provides assistance during acceleration and at higher speeds.

Without comprimising performancem the manual Civic only uses 6.8 Litrs of fuel per 100km, the auto just 6.7. The Civic Sport's larger engine uses only7.5 Litres per 100km.

Hybrid Facts

FACT 1 : The Civic can be serviced at any authorised Honda service centre. No need to find a special Hybrid service centre at the edge of the universe.

FACT 2 : You fill the Civic up at a regular petrol station. But the electric motor means this Hybrid doesn't drink much

FACT 3 : The Civic has loads of low-end torque for very responsive city driving, bypassing "Ready" and "Set" it's quick to "Go"

FACT 4 : The Civic Hybrid doesn't have a power plug; it charges itself while on the move. What a clever machine.

FACT 5 : Honda provides an 8-year/unlimited KM warranty* on the Lithium Ion battery module. It's really just for reassurance. Hopefully, you'll never need to use it.
